The next topic of our BUSINESS TALK & COFFEE is: Historical Risk and Return Profile of Investment Assets in Kazakhstan by Prof. Davlat Abduvali on June 7 from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Abstract: In Kazakhstan up to date we have observed quite low volumes, activity and participation in the capital markets on both the investors’ and issuers’ side. One of the possible explanations of the underdevelopment of the local capital markets seems to lie in the below average investment culture amongst the investors. Potential investors seem to lack information on the possible diverse ways of investing and understanding their returns and risks. Certain conventional ways of saving and investing, such as foreign currency, bank deposits and real estate seem to prevail amongst the investment preferences of the population. Statistically, however, they do not seem to represent the optimal investment strategy when the rate of return and risks are analyzed. In this talk let us explore what the historical data tell us about the risks and returns of the investment assets, available to the population.
