Yerken Turganbayev

Chief Administrative Officer

Yerken Turganbayev is a Chief Administrative Officer at the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business. He received a PhD in Economics from the Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen, UK) and a PhD in Mathematics from the Novosibirsk State University (Novosibirsk, Russia). His research interests lie in the application of a mathematical modeling approach to various problems in Regional Economics, Environment Protection and Information Systems. Prior to joining the NUGSB in August 2016, Yerken Turganbayev was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Harvard University and a Director of the Institute of Post-University Training and New Educational Technologies of the East Kazakhstan State Technical University.

Guzel Tulegenova


Guzel Tulegenova joined the school in November 2018, to initiate the process of international accreditation. In 2018 GSB prepared and submitted Eligibility Application to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, also known as AACSB. At the moment, the School is in the Initial Accreditation stage of the accreditation process, whereas Guzel Tulegenova coordinates preparing and writing initial Self Evaluation Report writing for the AACSB. She also acts as a Manager, Office of the Dean of the Graduate School of Business. In addition, Guzel is responsible for planning and organizing research seminars at GSB. She has extensive teaching, academic and international experience. Guzel Tulegenova holds MBA from the Maastricht School of Management as well as MA in Economics from the Michigan State University.



Arailym Magauina

Senior Manager for Admissions

Arailym Magauina is a Senior Manager at Graduate School of Business of Nazarbayev University. Arailym joined Nazarbayev University at 2013 as a PA to Vice-President for Student Affairs, International and government relations. Demonstrating a strong dedication and high responsibility, she moved up the ranks. After one year, she was promoted to Undergraduate Admissions department of the University. She has a bachelor degree in Business Management and MSc in Finance. Part of her job duties involves contacting with applicants on information sessions, group meetings and panels on the road, and addressing their needs and meeting their demands. One of the darkest parts of the Admissions manager’s job is to sheer and utter disappointment of an admission denial. Throughout her work, she developed the appropriate language and techniques for relating to the happiest and angriest of the wide-range of applicants. Her hobbies include ice-skating and travelling.


Danagul Akshalova

Consultant for Admission

Akshalova Danagul is a manager at Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business. She has graduated Dostoevsky Omsk State University and has earned Diploma of International Relations in Europe and Master Degree of Management at Russian Business School in Omsk. Before joining NU, she served as a corporate client  coordinator at Kazakh-British educational center.  She prefers couching in learning English, attend training course in her professional field, do yoga and play the piano.

Anara Ayaganova

Director of Executive Education

Anara Ayaganova is a Director of Executive Education programs at Nazarbayev University's Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the School, Anara worked in international organizations (United Nations Development Program Kazakhstan and United Nations Office for Project Support), in private joint company. Anara also has a public service experience in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She studied MBA in Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, and holds a Specialist degree in the field of international relations from Eurasian National University, a BA in economics from KazEU.


Gulnar Yermagambetova

Senior Manager

Gulnar Yermagambetova is an Executive Education Manager at the Graduate School of Business who is responsible for coordinating open enrollment and custom programs. Prior to joining the School, Gulnar worked at Haileybury Astana School and the Center of Excellence of the AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual schools". She holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Warwick (UK) and a Bachelor of Education degree in Two Foreign Languages from Aktobe State Pedagogical Institute (currently
Aktobe Regional State University named after K.Zhubanov).
