Yerken is an Instructor of Accounting and Finance at Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business (NUGSB). He joined Nazarbayev University in 2013 as part of the first cohort of NUGSB academic staff members. He has over 9 years of experience in teaching business disciplines. Yerken has published a series of educational articles on leading national online business journals such as Forbes and National Business. Prior to his career in academia, Yerken worked as an Auditor and Tax Consultant at Ernst & Young and Deloitte. He earned his MBA and B.Sc. in Business Administration and Accounting from KIMEP University.
In 2015, Yerken had the honor of winning the 550th Anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate Award (Gold Medal) from Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Contribution to Nazarbayev University.
In a 2014 graduation ceremony, he received the Best Teaching Assistant Award from the first cohort of alumni in Executive MBA program in the Graduate School of Business.
