NUGSB is fully committed to go back to a regular in-person and on-campus teaching format for the Fall 2021 semester. Of course, Nazarbayev University will constantly monitor the epidemiological situation in the country and make adjustments if warranted by pandemic conditions. At all times, the health and safety of our students is the priority for the Graduate School of Business of Nazarbayev University.


Applicants to the Full-Time MBA program, at the discretion of the Admissions Committee, may be exempted from submitting the language proficiency test report if:

  1.  one of their earlier academic degrees was earned in a country with English as the language of official communication, academic instruction and daily life;
  2. an undergraduate degree was earned in a program which was officially taught in English;
  3. the applicant is a graduate of Nazarbayev University;
  4.  an applicant is determined as a native speaker.

There is an opportunity to retake the ALEKS test one time only. The retake cost is -10 000 KZT


Applicants who obtained their degree diplomas/certificates from foreign educational institutions must request their official transcripts to be sent directly to the School.


We prefer that recommendation letters come from a current or former employer. An applicant may also request letters from individuals with whom they have had significant professional/academic interaction such as a supervisor, professor or a major client. It is important for recommenders to be able to reflect/describe applicant’s value as an employee, his/her professional accomplishments, and personal qualities and interpersonal skills in an organizational context. We do not accept recommendation letters from friends, family members or any other personal contacts. An applicant should indicate contact details (name, corporate email, phone numbers) of their recommenders in the application form. The recommendation forms are automatically generated by the admissions system and sent to the recommenders via email. The recommendation forms should be filled in online. 


All applicants receive their decision letter via emails.

We do accept candidates with at least 2 years of work experience for FTMBA program who are motivated and exhibit maturity, strong leadership and professional potential and are involved in various extra-curricular activities and community service during their undergraduate studies.


If an applicant requires an interview, the Admissions Officer will contact him/her to schedule one.


An applicant may request a one-year deferral which could be approved or rejected at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Deferred admission can be recommended for 1 (one) academic year by the Admissions Committee. Deferred admission allows a student to be considered for enrollment to a Program next year based on last year application but does not retain earned funding (if any). To participate in the allocation of funding for the next academic year, this student will need to submit a new application and participate in grant distribution with new pool applicants next year.  


Only admitted students are required to submit hard copies of their documents. All applicants will be notified about the dates when the hard copies should be submitted.


GSB offers limited number of merit-based scholarships that cover from 40 to 100% of the tuition fee.

The admissions committee will not consider incomplete applications. However, we understand that some applicants may sign up for later test dates. The admissions committee will accept the IELTS/TOEFL certificate after the application deadline but no later than approved dates by the School. Keep in mind that space in the class is limited, and applicants are discussed on a rolling basis.
