Zarema Khon

Zarema Khon is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining NUGSB, she was a Marketing and Procurement Manager at JV of Kazakhstan Railways and Alstom Transport; Marketing Field Coordinator at Metro AG; Product Marketing Manager at Samsung Elctronics; with full-time and part-time working experience in different markets of Almaty, Dubai and Astana (Telecommunications/FMCG/Railway/SMM/Event Management); passed internship at the Department of Education (Almaty Akimat). She holds an MSc (Hons) in Strategic Marketing, University of Wollongong in Dubai; BSS (Hons) in Public Administration, KIMEP. Zarema’s hobbies and interests include sports, photo and video editing, digital marketing and social sciences like history, anthropology and geopolitics.

Adina Yelekenova

Teaching Assistant

Adina Yelekenova has graduated from Nazarbayev University in 2015 as a first cohort with BA in Economics, with the following Master of Finance and Business Economics degree from the University of Manchester funded by Bolashak state program. She has worked as an audit assistant in KPMG prior to joining NUGSB. She has graduated from musical school #10 in Almaty. Adina enjoys playing piano, travelling, reading historical novels and doing all kinds of sports. Her research interests include momentum investments, portfolio management, asset pricing, hedge funds, market microstructure.

Assem Kablan

Teaching Assistant

Assem Kablan is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, she was a Project Manager of ‘Eco-Village Kazakhstan’ sponsored by Chevron Corp. in collaboration with NURIS. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Nazarbayev University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Karaganda State University. During her bachelor studies, Assem was a coordinator of English Debate League and had an academic exchange program in Business Administration at Fontbonne University, St. Louis, Missouri. Assem’s interests include start-ups, marketing and investments. Her hobby is to lead an active lifestyle through sports, and traveling.

Yerken Arystan

Research Assistant

Yerken Arystan is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, he was an Auditor at Ernst & Young LLP; Tax Consultant at Deloitte TCF LLP; passed internship at Department of Accounting, Bank CenterCredit; and worked as an Academic Associate at KIMEP University’s Bang College of Business concentrating on the fields of accounting, strategy and business policy, management and marketing, introduction to business. He holds an MBA in Accounting, KIMEP University; B.Sc. in Business Administration and Accounting, KIMEP University; and has received training in business communications, leadership and negotiation, entrepreneurship and corporate strategy from the university. Yerken’s hobbies and interests include sport, innovations, equipment and technologies.

Arkadiy Lenchak is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, he was an Educational Program manager and  Finance planner in a private company “Work and Study Abroad”; passed internship at Department of Transit Transportation, National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy; He holds an MSc in Economics, University of Rome Tor Vergata; B.Sc. in International Relations, Eurasian National University; Arkadiy’s hobbies and interests include american football, martial arts, game theory, corporate finance, math and teology studies.

Zhanat Jalilova

Zhanat Jalilova is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, she was a Project Manager in PI NLA, Nazarbayev University, Astana; Economist, Karagandalift LLP, Karaganda; Export manager, Interior Design Company “Storia Moderna”, Dubai, UAE; Research Assistant, Center for Strategic Studies, Eastern Meditterranean University, Northern Cyprus; JSC “NURSAT”, Finance division, Logistics department, Almaty. She holds an MSc in Economics,Eastern Meditterranean University, Famagusta, TRNC; BS in Management, Suleyman Demirel University, Almaty. Zhanat’s interests include in economics, econometric, statistics. Her hobbies and interests include charity activities, reading, intellectual and mathematical games, foreign languages, traveling.

Madina Nurguzhina

Madina Nurguzhina is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, she was a Project Manager of “Assembly, Integration and Testing Complex of Spacecrafts” project being implemented by National Company “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary”. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (with concentration in Technology Management), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, funded by Bolashak State Program and a Specialist’s degree in Economics and Management in Engineering, Karaganda State Technical University. Madina’s interests include woman entrepreneurship, business modelling and start-ups. Her hobbies are foreign languages, traveling, reading and yoga.

Assemgul Kozhabek

Teaching Assistant

Assemgul Kozhabek is currently an Academic Associate with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining the NUGSB team, she was a project manager at US General Consulate in Almaty city.Assemgul holds MSc in Engineering Business Management (with distinction) from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Her BSc degree is in Mathematical and Computer Modelling from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. While she was studying at KazNU, she completed course on “Human Rights and Development” which was created by University College of Dublin. Also, she was elected as a coordinator of Warwick Manufacturing Group Society. Assemgul’s research interests are Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics for mega-events and Strategic Planning.
