Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business is hosting a series of free-of-charge masterclasses “BUSINESS TALK & COFFEE”. You will have an opportunity to meet our faculty, talk to them over a cup of coffee, ask your questions and meet professionals from various fields.
We are excited to invite you to the masterclass: “Recognising the Value of Women’s Entrepreneurship”, hosted by Shumaila Yousafzai, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Graduate School of Business, Nazarbayev University and guest-speakers — Merey Mustafina and Nazgul Tursunalina.
Talk outline: Shumaila’s talk will explore the “Value” of the ‘Other’ in Entrepreneurship and address the misrepresentation of women entrepreneurs in research as subpar entrepreneurs and ‘underperformers’ due to the overwhelming emphasis on comparing their success to that of their male counterparts. Shumaila’s point of view is based on her research and work with women entrepreneurs from the UK, Africa and Asia. In this talk she would share her views on where women entrepreneurship need to move forward. Merey Mustafina as a prominent female entrepreneur, who gets to meet, mentor and network with aspiring and established female entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan would draw on her experience to tell us how Women Entrepreneurship is developing in Kazakhstan. Entrepreneurial standpoint will be represented by Nazgul Tursunalina, who will tell us about her own experience being an IT start-up owner, its challenges and insights.
