NU’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) hosts Mr. Andrew Main Wilson the CEO of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA).

NU’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) hosts Mr. Andrew Main Wilson the CEO of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA). AMBA is one of the “triple crown” accreditation organizations for business schools with a prestigious group of only 300 schools who have earned AMBA accreditation.

NUGSB is currently in stage 2 of the 3 stage process toward AMBA accreditation. The visit by Mr. Wilson marks an important step in the developing relationship between NUGSB and AMBA/BGA as we seek to gain international recognition for the quality of our business school and degree programs. During his campus visit Mr. Wilson met with NU President Shigeo Katsu to learn about the vision and mission of Nazarbayev University, and discuss the impact of the business school in Astana and the region. The visit was focused on accreditation
and also included meetings with the GSB (acting) Dean Dr. Joep Konings, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Accreditation Dr. Jenifer Lewis, the GSB accreditation team, faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, Mr. Wilson met with the Provost’s office to learn about institutional level support for accreditation and academic quality assurance.

According to Vice Dean Jenifer Lewis, “Mr. Wilson’s visit is a milestone in GSB’s pursuit of accreditation. As we move forward in our process it’s good to receive input and feedback from AMBA that speaks to the quality of our programs, students, faculty, and university. AMBA accreditation will put GSB among only 300 business
schools in the world who have achieved this remarkable recognition of quality, and we aim to receive accreditation by the end of 2023.”

Following the visit, GSB has now also received approved membership in the Business Graduates Association, a sister organization of AMBA. BGA schools share their commitment to responsible management practices, lifelong learning, and delivering positive impact for Business School stakeholders. GSB is now the 250th
member school in the BGA network.
