If you have ever asked questions such as, “how can I be more effective as a boss or a manager of a team?” or “what is the best way to motivate my team?” or “how can people in a team make better, more effective decisions?” then this course is for you. Drawing on the best research and practice available, the course intended to demystify effective team work and people management. We will cover key management concepts, such as motivation, power, decision making, and team development.

The course is designed to be participative and interactive. The class will include short lectures, participative in-class exercises, presentations, and mini-case discussions. At the end of the course, participants will be equipped with a toolkit of useful concepts, approaches, strategies to improve their individual and team effectiveness. These tools will enable participants to effectively “manage up [boss],” “manage down [subordinates],” “manage horizontally [colleagues]” within organizations.
