DBA Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the DBA program, the students will be able to:
  1. Develop a Critical and Research-Oriented Approach to identifying, addressing, and integrating key organizational and environmental factors, enhancing organizational effectiveness and advancing strategic objectives.
  2. Formulate and Apply Conceptual Insights to address complex business and management challenges, demonstrating research-driven solutions to enhance organizational performance and explore future growth opportunities.
  3. Generate and Disseminate Knowledge that has both practical and scholarly significance through business and management research, contributing locally to organizational impact and adding insights of broader, global relevance.
  4. Demonstrate Advanced Knowledge in a Specialized Field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Strategy) and effectively apply advanced research methods to solve intricate business issues and create opportunities for innovation.
  5. Communicate Authoritatively and Persuasively within their field of expertise, engaging with industry professionals and the broader business community to drive practice and policy through practical research, consultation, and thought leadership.
Successful completion of the DBA program requires the student to progress through the necessary stages:
1. Satisfactory application to the program.
2. Satisfactory completion of all required coursework in the program.
3. Preparing, submitting, and successfully defending a proposal for a thesis research project.
4. Conducting the necessary research for the research thesis.
5. Writing the thesis in an appropriate format.
6. Approval of the thesis by the advisory committee.
Program Structure
The program comprises the following major aspects:

  1. 8 courses:
1) 6 Foundational Core Courses
2) 2 Subject Specific Elective Courses

2. Submission and presentation of Applied Research Summer Paper (in Year 2 Summer Semester).
Submission of an Annual Progress Review at the end of Years 1 and 2.
Applied Research Project Proposal Defence (Spring of Year 2).
Submission of Final Thesis and Thesis Defence in Year 3.

The overall 3-year program equates to 180 ECTS.

DBA students receive integrated support from NUGSB and NU central services to ensure wellbeing, progression, and success. Each student has a primary advisor (Assistant Professor or above) appointed with Academic Director approval; a co-advisor may be added as needed (from GSB or other NU schools).
